The French football team is the men’s football team of France which has won the FIFA World Cup twice in 1998 and 2018. The team is the current world football champions. The team is governed by the French Football Federation. It falls under the continent of the European Confederation of UEFA.

The French football team won the 2018 FIFA World Cup on July 15, 2018. When France won its only FIFA World Cup in 1998, Didier Deschamps and the three-time World Player of the Year FIFA, Zinedine Zidane, were part of the team.

With a FIFA World Cup, two UEFA European Football Championships and two FIFA Confederations Cups, France also has an Olympic tournament under its belt.

France produces serious talents like Thierry Henry, Michel Platini, David Trezeguet, Zinedine Zidane, Just Fontaine, Olivier Giroud and Karim Benzema.

The football team was established in 1904, around the time of the founding of FIFA, on May 21, 1904, and played its first official international match on May 1, 1904 against Belgium. In 1930, the team appeared in its first FIFA World Cup.

The Stade de France is the team’s home stadium, inaugurated in 1998.
